Cannon County Woman Pleads Guilty To Rutherford Theft

On May 21, 2010 a Cannon woman pled guilty in Rutherford County Circuit Court to a charge of Theft Over $10,000.

Sharon Morton, 34, 2966 Bradyville Road, Woodbury entered her plea before Circuit Judge David Bragg on May 21, 2010 in Murfreesboro. Morton was indicted by the Rutherford County Grand Jury in November 2009 in a one count indictment of Theft Over $60,000.

In the plea agreement with the State of Tennessee, Ms. Morton received a six year sentence to the Department of Corrections as a Range I 30% offender and placed on state supervised probation. She is to make restitution in the amount of $86,614.74 to Cash Express, the victim in the case.

Morton was represented in the case by Murfreesboro attorney Ben Parsley.
