Kids 'Read Across America' At Adams Memorial Library

The kids got to make their own box cars out of milk cartons and craft supplies after the reading.
Cannon County's pre-K students enjoyed a reading of "The Little Engine That Could" on Tuesday evening as part of the Read Across America program.

There were also craft tables set up for students to make their own box cars at the Adams Memorial Library.

Across the country Tuesday, thousands of schools, libraries and community centers brought together kids, teens and books through events, partnerships and reading resources.

Pre-K children and their families were treated to a special presentation of the events focus book “The Little Engine That Could.” The guest reader was Ms. Laurie Burger. Children had the opportunity to make a craft and sing songs related to our railroad theme.

Ms. Burger is a superb teacher. She has been blessed with a wonderful gift. It shows. She is one of many teachers in Cannon County that make a difference everyday in each of our childrens lives. keep letting your light shine for all the world to see. Way to go Ms. Burger.
