Hope you're doing fine on this marvelous Monday morning. Been raining a few showers here and there, but I'm still able to move some plants around outside to different locations. Really when it has been raining, that's the best time to work with the flowers and plants as they won't even know they have been moved. Only plants left to set out are the dinner plate dahlias. Their blooms are so huge and beautiful and the different colors are simply breathtaking. I take them up in the fall and put them in a box in our garage as they couldn't take the coldness of winter.

Charlie Mai Daniel able to be at church on Sunday. Mai Nell Melton there, too, but Carlon, she said, just not able to attend the service. Do keep Carlon in prayer as he is wanting to be back in church so bad.

The 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby coming up this Saturday, May 7th. Love those horses and that race. Also, love to see those spectacular hats the ladies will be wearing. Speaking of hats, next Sunday will be hat day at church. I'm looking forward to seeing some very stylish hats that some of the ladies will be wearing. I'm not the only one that loves hats so this will be a treat.

There is another horse event coming up in May around here. It will be the Memorial Day Ride, May 28th - 30th. Those riders will exit Woodbury around 11am and ride up here to Short Mountain where the camp grounds are. It will be a whole lot of fun for everyone and with a lot of activities going on that will interest you and the family.

Guess this is 'blackberry winter' we're in now as it is chilly weather we're having to deal with. Thought we were going to scoot right off into balmy days as I had already had too many of these 'winters' delaying me in getting so many things done around here. Across the road is Ashlee's garden John's blackberry vines are blooming so that is a dead giveaway as to the winter we're experiencing I do believe. This is the second day of this 'cool snap' that I was hoping the weatherman was wrong about. By the weekend we're gonna be back in 'high cotton' 'with temperatures back in the 80's.

Clyde and Bobby still feuding over the election. The 'little green men' are happy that Clyde won if only by 1/2 a vote to be their leader as they really don't know Bobby that well. Bobby can always try out again for this honor next year. I hope Bobby knows he can fill in for Clyde if Clyde cannot fulfill his duties as the little green fellas' leader for some reason. I can't figure out why they would even want this job in the first place, unless it would be all that prestige of being in the limelight and getting paid good. If they thing there's a paycheck coming, I'll have to burst their bubble on that as this job is voluntary.
