News from the Mountain

Good tip of the hat to all of you this morning with the beautiful weather we are having to enjoy.
Hope you got to be in the Lord's house on Sunday to praise and worship HIM.

Chloe Evelyn Bogle back at home now and doing well. Gave her a call on Monday and had a delightful conversation with her. She is quite a lady.

John Henry Parker and Bernie Braswell at the store on Saturday morning. Seems like Aubrey's name forever coming up in a conversation. One time John Henry was having a problem with his dozer and told Aubrey about it when he was talking to Aubrey on the phone. Aubrey told him how to go about connecting these wires and sure enough the problem was solved as the dozer started right up. John Henry said, "Aubrey saved him time and money." Lots of stories abound about the mountain's Big John and how he would help people out with their equipment and always pulling out tractors for people it seemed at no charge. He would give a person the shirt off his back, if need be. As I have said before, only once in a lifetime is a man of his caliber in your midst. Quite a genuine entrepreneur who did his work by the sweat of his brow for the betterment of all those he came in contact with or he was around. God was his Master and the mountain his home. We only had this kind of man for what seemed to be a short time but only God makes the final call and Aubrey made his mark above all the others as no one before or to come will ever do, because he was so different and unique. Respect, you earn, it isn't given to you and Aubrey had that respect from everyone and so much more because of the honest life he led.

Several friends out on our patio the other day talking about those little green men with one of them saying in that devil's hole was probably the mother load of them. Well, I had to have that person repeat what they had just said as in no way did I find any comfort in hearing that sort of talk as the devil's hole is just too close to me. Clyde has said he's taking care of the little green people. All I can say is let's hope so and he does nothing to disturb them if they are really in there. After all, I would hate to see a regiment of the little green men coming my way in an attack mode. How could you defend yourself if caught up in that kind of a battle anyway? They probably have a weapon that could zap you out of here in a split second - or maybe two, if you were an extra big person. Ah, the suspense continues about what really transpires in the minds of some here on the mountain that are probably in the know about everything that possibly goes on. Luckily, I'm not one of them as my smarts are very limited, but maybe someday if I stay around and listen to people that know more than I do or think they do then I will probably rise to the occasion in conversation with them on their level about any subject being discussed. The important thing for me would just be quiet and pay attention. I don't know if I can do this as this girl loves to talk too much most of the time, but if I'm to get a whole lot smarter in life, the reality is that I will just have to buckle down and give it my best try, won't I? The Avon magnet on my fridge reads: If you think you can - you can. That is enough to motivate me into doing this so I would then be moving up the ladder into I guess higher society and social standing I'm thinking.

Some people we need to uplift in prayer: Fay Pitts, Denise Stanton, Jeff Brown, Edith Miller, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, Chloe Evelyn Bogle (she still needs our prayers), Bobby Taylor, and Donna Lawson.

Talking about the little aliens evidently is bringing them stardom on TV as some people relating to me about commercials about the little guys now. I've not seen them myself. The account given to me was that one alien had crashed his spaceship, then trying to flag down two guys in a pickup to help him. The guys not paying any attention to the little alien just looking at the Krystal sign and wanting those Krystal burgers (they are so good and to die for in my opinion as I've certainly had my share of them so I can vouch for their deliciousness) and can understand why the alien wasn't their top priority at that moment. At the end of the commercial though the little alien was there in the pickup in the middle between the two guys with I am so sure his supply of those Krystal burgers and being one little happy alien. As I say we should always be kind and help out those little ones even if they be the alien species. This is really the best diplomacy to follow as you very well know - What goes around comes around.

George my garden spider is still doing okay. With the colder weather coming our way for the weekend, someone suggested I should bring him inside like my plants and put him in a corner and tell him to stay there. Not gonna happen as he will just have to take care of himself outside as God intended.
