Weight Watchers in Woodbury will begin a new 10 week session on Thursday, February 11, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Money and enrollments are due by February 4.
The cost is $120 for new members or $110 for continuing members. This pays for all the necessary materials and the classes. Payments may be made by two checks, one dated February 11 and the second dated March 11, but they both need to be turned in by the February 4 meeting. New members are invited to stay for the February 4 meeting as guests.
This community based Weight Watchers group meets every Thursday evening at 5 PM, with weigh-ins starting by 4:45 PM. They are held at the U.T. Extension Office at 614 Lehman Street, across from the Senior Citizen’s Center. (Park and enter from the back.) It has been meeting continuously for over two years and will continue to meet as long as there are at least 15 paying enrollees. Lifetime Members who maintain within 2 pounds of their goals attend meetings and weigh-ins free.
Weight Watchers Instructor, Marie Frala, is down to earth and has a tremendous sense of humor. Classes are fun as members learn how to make better food choices, shop, cook, exercise, and reach their goal weights, all in a caring, supportive group. As Ms. Frala says, “All you have to lose is weight, and since this is before Valentine’s Day you might hint to your sweetie you’d rather enroll in the classes than receive the traditional candy and dinner out.” With a smile and a twinkle in her eyes she quickly adds” Of course, I’d ask for the candy, dinner, and Weight Watchers too!”
