The Cannon Courier has been authorized to announce the candidacy of Mike Gannon for re-election to the office of County Executive. Mike and his wife of 32 years, Wadene Alexander Gannon, are both lifelong residents of Cannon County. Together, they have two children. Ryan, their son, is married to Wendy Miller Gannon. They have a two-year-old daughter Madelyn. Their daughter Kara is married to Brandon Fuston of Rock Island, Tennessee. Kara and Brandon’s daughter Harper recently celebrated her first birthday.

In announcing my candidacy for re-election, I would like to thank the citizens of Cannon County for allowing me to serve as your County Executive. I consider serving you an honor and have always strived to do what is best for all Cannon Countians. Serving as County Executive, important decisions are made on a daily basis. I take that responsibility very seriously as it affects all our lives. With my experience, I seek advice from many sources to come to a resolution that is best for the future well being of all citizens. A quick fix may seem like a simple solution in many cases; however, looking ahead to the future and considering what is best for the majority of our citizens is the right approach to good government.

Before the election, I plan to see as many voters as possible. For those I may miss, I take this opportunity to ask for your vote and support. As always, if there are any questions or suggestions concerning county government, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at the office at 563-2320, or you may call my home at 563-5141. You are welcome to visit me at the office anytime.
