The Cannon Courier has been authorized to announce the candidacy of Mike Gannon for re-election to the office of County Executive.
Mike and his wife of 36 years, Wadene Alexander Gannon, are both lifelong residents of Cannon County and they have two children. Ryan is married to Wendy Miller Gannon and they have a 6 year old daughter, Madelyn. Kara is married to Brandon Fuston of Rock Island, Tennessee. They have two daughters, Harper, 5 and Hollyn, 3 and a son, Hayes, 10 months.
In announcing my candidacy for re-election, I would like to thank the citizens of Cannon County for the distinct honor of serving as your County Executive. First and foremost, I take my responsibility as your County Executive very seriously as it affects all our lives. In every decision I make, I always take into consideration what is best for the citizens of Cannon County.
Being County Executive requires making decisions on a daily basis that are not always popular. Simple solutions are not the best way to make long-term decisions. I make decisions on my philosophy of common sense makes good government. With my experience and lifetime of interaction with the people of Cannon County, I believe together we will continue to grow and make Cannon County even stronger for future generations. We must preserve the quality of life which we are accustomed and improve it wherever we can.
Before the election, I plan to see as many of you as possible. For those I may miss, I take this opportunity to ask for your vote and support on August 7.
As always, if you have questions, concerns or suggestions regarding county government, please contact me at my office at 563-2320 or you may call my home at 563-5141. Please know you are always welcome to visit my office at anytime.
Thank you for your time,
