Man Charged With Ninth DUI Offense

Following are the latest arrest and incident reports as recorded by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department. Readers are advised that an allegation or report of a crime does not necessarily constitute a crime, or even that one took place. All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Woodbury Police Department

01.22.2010 — James Allen speed was charged with DUI 2nd offense, speeding (50 MPH in a 30 zone), open container violation, and implied consent after refusing a blood test.

01.27.2010 — Danny Hugh Kennedy III was charged with driving on a suspended license.

01.27.2010 — David William McPeak was charged with public intoxication. Officers determined he was a danger to himself after McPeak walked across McMinnville Hwy. and was nearly hit by two vehicles.

01.27.2010 — Gerald Henderson reported a theft that occurred at his 111 Hill Street Residence. Upon arriving home around 6:30 P.M. Henderson went to feed his horses but found that his storage shed had been broken into. A Double T saddle and a Breast strap were missing. The saddle was new and had been purchased at StoneGate tack shop in Woodbury. The saddle is a model #4150 mahogany color. Henderson suspects an ex-girlfriend might have taken it and a neighbor reported seeing a female approach in a blue Dodge Caravan around 4:30 P.M. that day.

01.28.2010 — Jennifer Lee Winfrey was charged with driving on a suspended license.

Cannon County Sheriff's Department

01.23.2010 — Marijo Martinez served a warrant for violation of probation on Billy J. George in the booking room of the CCSO without incident.

01.26.2010 — Deputy Matt Parsley responded to a theft at 2301 Eugene Road. There Carl Hale Jr. stated that his ex-wife Theresa Kiss had come to his home and taken all his belongings. Mr. Hale was unable to give a detailed list of the items stolen but mentioned Craftsman tools, $200 cash, and personal photos. Mr. Hale had told Mrs. Kiss to stay off the property. Mr. Hale smelled intoxicated and had slurred speech and an unclear thought process.

01.26.2010 — Deputies Patrick Fann and Eric Moss went to 3014 Jim Cumming Hwy and arrested Brian Wells for failure to appear.

01.26.2010 — Daniel Preston served Tammy Renee Robinson with a warrant for Violation of Probation in the booking room of the CCSO without incident.

01.27.2010 — Deputy Steve McMillan took a report from Todd Smith on Wilson Hollow Rd. Mr. Smith had arrived to work that morning to find two batteries stolen from his bulldozer and another two from his skitter. Another skitter had been opened but the batteries were still there. The battery cables were cut to remove the batteries. Mr. Smith is unsure of the brand but they are all 12 volt and valued at around $100 each. Mr. Smith had noticed a red S-10 with green hood and two young men approach the site and leave earlier that day.

01.27.2010 — Lt. Brad Hall took a report from Gladys Moore by phone. She reported that a couple had approached her and asked for gasoline. Ms. Moore's neighbor Ronnie Pack gave them some gasoline after confirming that their car was out of fuel.

01.28.2010 — Deputy Brandon Gullet responded to a possible drunk driver at Bradyville Rd. where Charles A. Gordon had struck a guard rail and pulled into a nearby driveway. Mr. Gordon was noticeably drunk and refused to cooperate with field sobriety tests. Mr. Gordon finally agreed to a blood test and was charged with DUI 9th Offense and Driving on a Revoked license.

01.28.2010 — Deputy Randy Neal took a report at 9596 Hollow Springs Rd. where Matthew Brewer's truck had slipped off the road. No serious damage was done and his was the only vehicle involved. USF Holland called their own wreck company to retrieve the truck.

01.29.2010 — Deputy Tommy Barker responded to an abandoned 97 Ford Ranger left in the 8000 block of Jim Cummins Hwy. A tow line was attached to the front of the vehicle. Barker called Pelham's to tow the vehicle as it was a traffic hazard.

01.30.2010 — Deputy Tommy Barker responded to a possible property damage at 6667 Jimm Cummins Hwy where Ms. Olivene Corley stated that a motorist had slid off into her ditch. The 2005 Ford Explorer's owner Eric Parenteau had been unable to free the vehicle but stated that he would get help in the morning and repair any damage done to Ms. Corley's property.

01.31.2010 — Deputies responded to a routine fire at 827 Finnie Simmons Rd. The home was completely engulfed. Neighbors reported that the residents had left two days earlier. The fire began again later that day. Suspicion was generated after officers learned a gunsafe had been recently removed and that Mr. Mayfield had kennelled his dogs instead of his usual routine of having someone come feed them. On 02.01.2010 deputies contacted Mr. Mayfield at Manchester Regional Health Center where he stated the safe had been moved for months because of recent burglaries in the area and that he'd left a gas heater on in case of electricity loss. The home was insured and Mr. Mayfield had a small mortgage on it.

01.31.2010 — Deputy Tommy Barker responded to a structure fire at 4234 Auburntown Rd. There he found a garage fully engulfed in flames. Roy Haney said there was electricity to the structure but not heat. Danny Kennedy reported that he saw the fire as he drove by and upon hearing a loud explosion called 911 from a nearby house.

02.01.2010 — Marijo Martinez served a warrant on Bradley Durham for violation of probation in the booking room of the CCSO without incident.

02.02.2010 — Albert Summers served a warrant on Brandon Ferrell for violation of probation in the booking room of the CCSO without incident.
