The Cannon County Jr. Lionettes Softball Team traveled to Rutherford County on April 3 to take on the Middle Tennessee Christian School Cougars.  The MTCS Cougars made some adjustments to their lineup since the last meeting of these two teams and it made an obvious difference.

MTCS jumped out to an early 3–0 lead by the end of the first inning. The Lionettes would eventually tie the game 3-3 until the top of the 4th inning when Ally Parton drove the ball deep into right center field for an inside the park homerun giving the Lionettes a 4 – 3 lead.  The Lionettes held the lead and never looked back. When the dust finally settled the Lionettes emerged with a 7–5 road victory.

Jessica Elmy had another impressive game from the mound striking out 11 MTCS batters.  Several players made notable offensive contributions including Kallie McCrary who went 2 for 3 with two doubles and Ally Parton who went 2 for 4 including a home run.

Other players making significant batting contributions were Alyssa Whited 2 for 3, Danielle White 2 for 3 and Jessica Elmy 2 for 3.

The Jr. Lionettes return to action on April 16 when they will travel to Rutherford County to take on Central Magnet School.
