Draw For Tennessee Girls Basketball Championships To Be Made Sunday

HERMITAGE — A draw will be made to determine the brackets for the 2010 Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee Basketball Championships.

The draw for the Division I Girls’ Championships will be made on Sunday, March 7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro at 2:00 p.m.

Cannon County's Lionettes, who play Upperman tonight at White County High School in Sparta for the Region 4-AA crown, will play in the Sectionals Saturday night regardless of tonight's outcome.

Should the Lionettes win tonight they will host a Sectionals game Saturday. They will be on the road that night if they lose.

Sectional winners advance to the state tournament, while the season ends for the losers.

McMinn Central and Polk County are playing for the 3-AA title tonight in the region opposite Cannon County and Upperman.

The draw for the Division I Boys’ Championships will be made on Saturday, March 13 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro at 10:00 a.m.

The draw for both tournaments will take place in the Oakleigh A meeting room at the hotel.

Coaches from each of the eight teams in all three classifications will be present for each draw. Members of the media are welcome to attend.

The brackets for the draw will be updated live on the TSSAA website (www.tssaa.org) as they occur.
