One hundred and two donors signed in to give the gift of life at the Lion’s Club Bloodmobile on Thursday (May 16).
“Four left prior to going back due to time restraints. One was sent away due to lack of material. Four were stopped during donation for reason, 65 donors were productive in donating whole blood and 13 gave double red cells giving 91 as successful units collected,” said Carl Hirlston, drive chairman.
Tracy Tidwell gave blood for the first time and also won the $100 American Express Gift Card.
Vanessa McCrickad David Wilson, and Kathryn Bugg also were first time donors. Joyce Frazier and Mary D Duncan donated their seventh gallon, Hirlston said.
Lynnette Robinson reached a 5 gallon goal, Roger Hindman 4 gallons, Billy Womack 3 gallons, Dianna Grandstaff and Manuel Chapa both reached a 2 gallon mark while Randy Slone, Jessica Sullivan, Charles Reed, and Jonathan Scurlock reached the 1 gallon mark.
Most every business in Woodbury provided a door prize and all who came out receive door prizes and a “bag of goodies”.
The Woodbury Lions Club thanks the donors, and merchants for their continuing support of the Clubs partnership with the American Red Cross and having the best blood drives in the state, he said.
