Local artist Rachel Parker was  recently invited to participate in the 2012 holiday decorations at the Tennessee Residence in Nashville.

Parker’s name was suggested to the Governor’s office hoping that she would create a decoration that would symbolize Cannon County.

Tennessee’s First Lady, Crissy Haslam, stated “Bill and I have seen such terrific talent and we are excited to highlight Tennessean’s creativity, as well as the uniqueness of each part of our state.”

Rachel painted church rooftops that are scattered throughout Cannon County. The background is a white and bluish snow scene.

The ornament will be featured this year and saved for future use. Rachel can be reached at 615-563-4740.

Congratulations Rachel!
