Cannon County's Pee Wee Football teams went on the road Saturday, Sept. 5 to battle Jackson County in Gainesboro.

6-7 year old

Cannon County started the game on offense with a 25 yard run which resulted in a fumble. Jackson County (Gainesboro) took over on their opening drive and scored in 5 plays with the extra point point coming up short JC 6 - CC 0

On a Cannon County’s next possesion it took one play to score , a 70 yard TD scamper by QB Brady Bryson. the extra point was no good JC 6 - CC 6

Both teams had drives that stalled, with Jackson County got a scoring drive at the end of the 2nd quarter to go ahead 12-6 at the half.

Turnovers through out the game and Jackson County adding one more scoring drive in the quarter made the score 19-6 at the end of three quarters.

In the 4th quarter Cannon County one touchdown, a 60 yard score called back on a holding call. Final score for the 6-7 group 19-6. Tough loss for the young boys as they continue to improve.

8-9 year old

A tough contest with both teams having drives stalled with fumbles and turning it over on downs. Both teams moved the ball but Cannon County came up on the short end, another win for Jackson County.

10-11 year old

Cannon County 10-11 year olds had a hard fought battle with Jackson County with both teams having long scoring plays. Jackson County scored first with a sweep aroung the right end on there first possesion. the extra point was no good with JC 6 - CC 0.

Cannon County’s first score came on a 60 yard run by Jeremy Litchford to even the score JC 6 - CC 6. The extra point failed leaving the score tied at the half. Jackson County scored again in the 3rd quarter and made the extra point to take a 13 - 6 lead.

Cannon County hit pay dirt with Litchfield sweeping aroung the right end for a touchdown. Cannon County missed the extra point to leave the score JC 13 - CC 12.

Time ran out before Cannon County could get in the endzone leaving the final 13-12. Hard running by Jake Walkup and Jeremy Litchford keep the young lions in the game and a stiff defensive effort lead by Bo Bryson kept the game close.
