HOUSES NEEDED for the Lions Club Christmas Tour of Homes which will be held on Saturday December 2nd. Please contact Lois Larimer at 615-542-1858 if you would like to share your decorated home with friends and neighbors. A great Christmas tradition which benefits a very worthy cause.
COATS FOR CANNON COMMUNITY PROJECT
The Woodbury Lions Club is preparing for the COATS FOR CANNON and expanding it. Coats can be picked up at the Lions Club Building on Friday Nov. 10 from 4:00pm until 7:30pm and on Saturday from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm. Coats are now being collected at Sue Patrick CPA's office at 109 Lester Street, Woodbury. Phone 615 563-1328 if you have questions. Gloves, scarves, hats, and socks are being accepted. Anyone wishing to make a donation can leave these at Sue's office. This is an example of how the Lions Club Serves the Community. Please help. The coats can be used or new. Other items should be new. Cash donations and clothing items are now being accepted.
SOLID WASTE CENTER HOURS
The Current Hours of Operation at the Cannon County Convenience Center:
CLOSED Sunday & Wednesday
7 AM to 5 PM Monday & Tuesday & Saturday
9 AM to 7 PM Thursday & Friday
Only household waste will be accepted at the Convenience Center. There will no longer be any building materials accepted or cardboard pickup provided. Please make note of any changes.

Celebrate Recovery from hurts, habits and hang-ups meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

FLAGS FOR SALE
The American Legion Post 279 in Woodbury is selling flags and accessories. The monies raised from the sale of these flags goes 100% back to our Community, our Youth and our Veterans, in Cannon County. We have available an assortment of all sizes and all types of flags - United States Flags, State Flags, Military Service Flags; and all sizes of flag poles. The United States Flag 3'x 5' nylon is $25. The United States Flag 4"x 6" is .50 each or $5 a dozen The military services/branches flags are $30 each. We can get you any State Flag, different size flags and different size flag poles, including indoor sets. The Cannon County Senior Center announces the following schedule for its Music Night. Admission is $5.00. Doors open at 6 p.m. Ronnie Crownover performs on Oct. 20, Rode West will be back on Nov. 3.
Free Medicare Help is Available
Open Enrollment for 2018 begins October 15. For those who are eligible to sign up for Medicare or have questions about making changes to their Medicare health plans and/or Medicare Part D prescription drug plans, free, un-biased Medicare information and counseling is available through the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability.
Open enrollment for the coming year runs from October 15 to December 7.

A Mansion in Mourning

The clocks are stopped at the hour of your death, the curtains are drawn and the mirrors draped in black...come explore the unusual mourning customs and creepy superstitions of the Victorian era at Oaklands Mansion. Guided tours of the mansion with our mourners are available from October 15 till 31, 2017, Tuesday - Saturday 10:00AM - 4:00PM and Sundays 1:00PM- 4:00 p.m., with the last tour beginning at 3pm. Regular admission rates apply.

September 19, 2017 - Hundreds of runners and volunteers will join together on October 28th, at Shelby Bottoms Nature Center & Greenway for the 2017 Run for Babies which helps more babies survive and thrive.
