STEMmobile Visit
West Side Elementary

Tennessee Tech University's STEMmobile will be at West Side Elementary May 18-20 in an effort to enhance student participation and interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects.
The STEMmobile supplies pre-kindergarten to eighth grade teachers with innovative and hands-on resources to enhance classroom education. The STEMmobile is a 53-foot-long tractor-trailer with self-contained power, Internet connectivity and workstations for up to 24 students. It is equipped with instructional materials and classroom kits from Tennessee Tech's Oakley STEM Center, including iPads, laptops and hand-held data collection devices.

American Legion Post 279 to meet

The American Legion Post 279 will meet on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 5:45 pm for dinner and 6:30 pm for the meeting, at the Senior Citizens Center in Woodbury. Veterans, we need your help. Come on out and be part of a good thing. All of our efforts and all of the funds we raise go 100% to our veterans, our youth, and our community.
Your service to this great nation is greatly appreciated. And we need to band together as brothers and pay tribute to our veterans of Cannon County, and especially to those sixty one men listed on the
monument in front of our Courthouse who gave their lives for their country and for this wonderful freedom we all enjoy today.

A Southern Celebration, benefiting We Care Cannon, will be held at 6 p.m. rain or shine at the Cove on Maple Drive in Houston Hills, Woodbury. The event will feature a live auction and live Bluegrass music. Deadline for purchasing tickets is May 15. Tickets are $50 per person at Farm Bureau, First National Bank or Woodbury Funeral Home. Cross Country
Car Wash
Saturday, June 6
The Cannon County High School cross country team will have a car wash on Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the First National Bank in Woodbury to raise funds for their 2015 season. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from any team member. Money raised will go toward meet fees, uniforms, and summer camp expenses. Any donations would be appreciated.

Banks Cemetery Decoration Day
Sunday, June 7
The annual Decoration Day for Banks Cemetery in DeKalb County will be Sunday, June 7th. Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church will also have their annual Homecoming Day. Sunday School begins at 10:00 and worship at 11:00 with lunch at noon. Everyone is invited. Please make plans to attend.
