An 80’s jukebox musical complete with roller skates and a mirror ball, featuring the songs of Olivia Newton-John.
The Arts Center of Cannon County proudly presents "Xanadu," the musical comedy adapted from the cult classic film starring Olivia Newton-John. This over-the-top, hysterical roller-skating musical spoofs the 1980s film about a beautiful muse who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach and inspires a struggling artist to pursue his biggest dreams: the first roller disco. Hilarity on wheels for anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired! Get ready for disco balls, rainbows and a score that features such pop-rock hits as “Magic,” “Evil Woman” and “Suddenly.”
Xanadu is directed by Dr. Darryl Deason and features Cody Rutledge (who was a roller skating Sonic carhop in high school) as Sonny Malone, Maggie Richardson as Clio/Kira,. Michael McGee as Melpomene, Kerri Kairdolf as Calliope, Scarlett Turney as Thalia, Gerald Melton as Danny Maguire, Drew Jenkins as Euterpe, Abby Kairdolf as Erato, and Caleb Marshall Terpsicore.
