Our condolences are sent to Tom Ganoe and family on the recent death of his wife. Known by friends as "Cookie", passed away following a lengthy illness. A memorial service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Auburntown Community Center.

Donna Nichols enjoyed her Easter days in Syracus, NY, with daughter, Sara Drue and Chris Zimmer, Drew and Canyon. There she experienced very cool days and even some snow making the "egg hunt" happen indoors. The next time she visits with them, she will be traveling to Texas to a town called Canyon. "Zim" will be teaching at West Texas A & M.

It was a reunion of sorts for a few of old Samsonite employees. Herbert Goins of Manchester was the "bus" driver as he went to Unionville to pick up Kelly Lambert, on to Murfreesboro where Tom Boyce joined in and finally to Auburntown to pick up P-pa. They all enjoyed lunch at Joe's Place in Woodbury and were joined there by Jerry Higgins. It took them 3 hours to get all caught up as most had not seen each other since the Samsonite days.

AUBURN SCHOOL REUNION is almost here. Saturday, June 6th beginning at noon, anyone who had or has any connection to Auburn School, past or present, are encouraged to attend this special reunion. The first one was held in 2000 and called "Y2K Auburn School Reunion." It was attended by over 300 people. We have since scheduled this to happen every 5 years.

The local Lion's Club is holding its monthly fish and shrimp fry that day and you are welcome to come and give support by eating with them if you like but you are encouraged to come whether you eat or not.

Monday the 13th was a special day for Auburn students in grades K-2nd when no other than "Snowbird" from WSMV-4 TV visited. Since snow season (we hope) is gone, he is now going to schools to help students learn more about weather.

The same day was also special for Callie Francis. It was her birthday and she was treated to a meal at Cheddars in Murfreesboro with family John and Kim Francis, Jonathan, Amanda, Allison and Waylon Francis and Jennie, Brooklyn and Londyn Francis.

On the 22nd of April, Tim Baines, Haley Smith and Luke Jakes all have birthdays. The next day Gene Harris turns 81 and Canyon Zimmer hits his 6th year. Randy Morris and Abby Tenpenny Tuck celebrate the 25th. It's 30 years for Ashley Hayes on the 26th the same day Zach McAllister and Courtney Nipper celebrate. Joan Bryson adds another year on the 27th and Abby Jakes turns 20 on the 28th. Happy birthday to all of you.

Happy anniversary to Jimmy and Virginia McKnight on the 21st. On the 25th it's be 62 years of wedded bliss for Edward and Myrtle Bryson. Happy anniversary to this "young" couple.
