BY ANNA PATRICK

Our condolences to Dianne Gaddis on the death of her mother, Dorothy Jennings of Statesville. Dorothy is also the aunt of Lynn O'Neal and Darlene Brown.

Get well wishes to Dewey Corley who was taken Sunday to St. Thomas Rutherford.

An apology plus congratulations to Garrett Goff whose 4-H poster also placed first in his classroom AND county level. His and Kiley Hughes' posters advanced to the Regionals where they will compete with an average of 1-3 posters per county from 10 total counties. Good luck.

It was March birthday celebrations at our house Sunday the 8th. Janna Womack's for the 15th and Kyle Patrick's for the 19th. The cakes chosen was a vanilla cake with chocolate chip cookie dough (cccd) filling with cccd balls, cccd frosting topped with more cccd balls surrounded by chocolate chip cookies! The other was a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting decorated with Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Can you guess which one chose which?

On hand to help decide which one was the best tasting were Ray (seems he liked both! Surprised?), Anita, Dustin and Daxton Patrick, Kyle, Shannon, Kullon and Shiloh Patrick, Sam, Bethany, Rylon and Amaieah Morrison, Ryan and Janna Womack, and Alayna and Adrianna Reed.

Tim and DeAnna Reed were unable to make it due to her being sick although she did request pieces of the cakes!

Auburn Baptist Church Girls' in Action visited Sunday with residents of the Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center. It appears from pictures provided by Donna Nichols that they carried gifts.

Did you miss last night's (Monday) B-team tournament game? Well if you did, you missed some good basketball and some mighty fine eating from the Concession Stand. Be sure to come to Thursday night's competition. Game time is 4:00 p.m. Consolation and Championship games are set for Saturday also beginning at 4:00 p.m.

And be sure to come hungry and enjoy the very delicious hamburgers, etc. that is being provided.

It's time for our birthday wishes with the first one going out to my son, Kyle, who hits the 34 mark on the 19th. The same day Trisha Dunn's hits a young looking 55. Aiden Courage Gaither and John Mark Turney both turn 17 that day. Sam Garrison has his special day on the 20th the same day one of my good sisters-in-law turns 75. Happy birthday Barbara Harris. The 21st sees Angela Leyhew, Clarence Nipper and Ann Bryson all eating cake and ice cream (maybe). Martha Hays celebrates the 22nd with Diane Gober, Earl James, Marisa Gilley and Kathy Pugh all finishing up the week on the 24th. Happy, happy days to all of you.

No anniversaries listed in my "little black book" so "'til we meet again - Happy Trails to you."
