Winfred Gaither was back in the hospital over the weekend but is out now.

It was beautifully decorated and the participants were also beautiful and handsome. That's the King and Queen Coronation held Friday night at the Roger Turney Gym. Crowned as the Junior Queen was Jesse Tucker-Vaugh, the Junior King was Ben Brown. Senior Queen was Alana Whited. Kindergarten Prince was Cody Prater. Caitlin Dodd and Joshua Powers was the First Grade Princess and Prince respectively. Second Grade Princess was McCarlee Eubanks and her Prince was James Hancock. Keely Brandon and Hunter Edison represented the 3rd grade as Princess and Prince. Fourth Grade Princess was Olivia Robbins. Fifth Grade Princess was Caitlyn Crook. Katelyn Duggin was the Sixth Grade Princess with Angeleena Geore the 7th Grade and Alyssa Williams the 8th grade. Announcing the Royal Court were Rachel Hale and Colin Crawley.

The program began with the entrance of the American flag by Hannah Junker. Leading in the Pledge of Allegiance were Adrianna Reed, Madison Gaither, Katie Hancock and Mary Elisabeth Patterson. Leading in the singing of the National Anthem were Jada Bobo and Leighanne Dodd.

Bearing flowers for the queens were Nevaeh White escorted by Allen Leach and Makayla Taylor escorted by Caleb Powers. Bearing the junior trophy were Morgan Eidson and Kelsie Burnett. Kallie Burnett brought in the senior trophy.

Presenting the queens with their bouquet of roses were sisters, Kiley and Lilly Hughes. Jackson Phillips was the scepter bearer. Brining in the crowns were Katlyn White, Daisy Taylor and Memphis Reed.
Cake walks and Silent Auction followed the Coronation. Auburn School says "Thank You" to all who made the final total of $11,100 plus a big success.

Saturday P-pa and I attended our very first Cross County Competition held at Sharp Springs Park in Smyrna. It was a perfect day to do some running and we're so proud of our CCHS boys and girls who did. Congratulations to all. If you got last week's edition of the "Courier", you read about the good results.

That afternoon P-pa and I were in Manchester where we met Herbert Goines and his wife, Elaine, at Cracker Barrel. He was the "Best Man" at our wedding some 50 years ago and it was good to do a lot of catching up.

The Lion's Club Building was full of Brysons Sunday the 28th. There were 55 who enjoyed all that good food and good fun.

Wednesday "Miss" Sunshine's 4th grade enjoyed a field trip to the Oaklands Museum. They saw how some of our ancestor's lived by making what they needed. No Walmarts around!

The 9th begins our birthday list this week with Donna Nichols, Jody Dickey, Ruby Reed Anderson, Debbie Whited, Rachel Hale and Madison Gaither all celebrating. Cole Turney and Robert Fletcher get their cake and ice cream on the 10th. Derrick and Eric Hughes get another year older on the 11th. It's Cliff Burkhead and Charles Patterson's turn to celebrate on the 12th. Ending the week on the 13th are Lyn O'Neal and Kevin Sheerer. Happy birthday you all.
