Mickie and Anne Anderson returned home to cold weather following their annual Christmas vacation to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

Debbie and Van Cheatham are grandparents again. This time to Lucas Van Sandes. Little Lucas was born Saturday, December 6th weighing in at 8 lbs., 4 oz. and being 19½ inches in length. Parents are Osvaldo Martin and Sara Beth Sandes. Big sister, Camilia, is helping take care of him. Not only are the Cheathams proud grandparents but he has a proud great grandother, Elsie Mae Bryson. Congratulations to all of you.

Friday, December 6th, Charles and Janice Ritchey hosted the annual Christmas party for her Sunday School Class of Auburn Baptist Church. Attending were Hallean Tate, Robbie Owen, Kizze Lou Vance, Ed and Betsy Leah, Bobby and Brenda Francis, Jimmy and Elaine Mingle, Dean Nichols and Lisa Fluty.

Betty and Terry Thomas had special weekend guests. Son, Patrick of Cedar Grove came in to spend a few days and attend the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Awards Banquet held last weekend. Other "horse" friends who visited the Thomases and attended the banquet were Lisa and Kevin Kessell of West Virginia and Lauren Hamilton also of Cedar Grove.

Congratulations to Patrick on his accomplishments this year in this industry. He was honored in several categories - 3 of which were "Horse of the Year".

The annual Grammar School Cancer Tournament was held recently. Both Lady Knights and Knights placed 3rd. Making the All-Tournament teams were MaLeah Scott and Katelyn Duggin for the girls and Austin Duggin and Bradly Vickers for the boys. Congratulations.

Having birthdays this week are Joe Turner and Memphis Reed on the 18th, Samantha Gaither and Helen Fults on the 19th, Jordan Blackbun and McKenzie Turney on the 21st, Velma Turner the 23rd and Nell Summar and Sarah Hackney the day Santa comes down the chimney that night. Happy birthday to all of you.

Jackie and Ann Bryson celebrate their 59th year on the 18th and Gordon and Nell Summar have an anniversary on the 21st. Happy anniversary to both couples.
