Still lots of travelers have been on the road for a little R&R.

Todd and Tracy Hollandsworth enjoyed the sights and sounds in and around Savannah, GA. Chris, Joanie and Jordan Blackburn and Emily Keaton were north of there at Myrtle Beach, SC. The Francis clan (Bobby and Brenda's) were campers at Defeated Creek Campgrounds. They celebrated a couple of birthdays there - Ethan Bryson turned 18 and Waylon Francis had his first.

The Recycled Teens of Auburn Baptist Church were in Lebanon Tuesday to enjoy a wonderful time and food at Ryan's. After the feasting, they did some antique browsing. The "teens" were Janice and Steve Fletcher, Hallean Tate, Elaine Mingle, Connie Leyhew, Sandy Osborne, Amy Reed, and Bill and Barbara Asbury.

Chris Zimmer drove down from New York to retrieve his family - Sara Drue, Drew and Canyon - from a 5-week stay with grandparents, Donna and Eddie Nichols. They are back home now having carried a trunk-load of delicious peaches with them picked at Pratt's Orchard in Lebanon.

Wade and Jennifer Duggin, and Austin and Kenan Gaines have returned from a trip North East. They made stops at the Gettysburg National Battlefield in Gettysbrug, PA and the Hershey's Chocolate World in, where else, but Hershey, PA. They took some sun time at Atlantic City Beach, NJ. The group visited with native Cannon Countian, Franz and Shannon Walkup. Franz, as most of you know, is at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD recovering from wounds he suffered while serving overseas.

They were humbled by the sites of Arlington Cemetery and The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, VA.
It's back to school time and Auburn Elementary is hosting a "Back-to-School Bash" this Thursday night from 4-6 p.m. Hot dogs are being served and games available for all students, parents and staff.

Not only is school here but also RED APPLE DAYS! Friday night's Gospel singing festivities begin at 5:00 with Saturday's activities beginning at 10:00 a.m. Don't forget to bring your lawn chair, (or a blanket to sit on the ground), sit back, and enjoy good food and entertainment.

The last day of July has several people celebrating birthdays - the first one and the most important one to me is hubby, P-pa, Prentice, who turns 71. Winfred Gaither hits his 90th year. Jacob Duggin turns a quarter of a century old (25!) while Tommy Hayes enters is 7th decade. Ashley Swift, Ardana Hughes and Teresa Scott also celebrate that day. Connie Bryson and Chris Crook open up the month of August. Paul Edward Leach and John Higgins add another year on the 2nd. Lauren Burkhead Carver has her quarter-century birthday on the 3rd. My daughter-in-law, Anita Patrick, celebrates the 4th along with Darnell Brown. Gary Gilley has one the 5th and Robbie Owen winds up the week with her 76th on the 6th. Happy birthday to all of you.

Now for anniversaries and there is only one which is Charles Dicky and Dean Vantrease who celebrate their 37th on the 5th. Happy anniversary.
