It is with heartfelt sympathy we extend to Sandi McDaniel on the sudden loss of her husband, Glenn.

It was cold, damp and windy in Morrison Friday night, the 3rd, but it was a baseball game that needed to be seen by P-pa and me. We took with us, Robbie Owen and Ruth and Marvin Davenport to see the first big game of our grandson, Rylon Morrison. Of course, he did a great job! And of course, Medley's Diner was so handy for a meal that we all (Sam Bethany and Rylon) joined there to warm up and eat.

Saturday it was off to Hooptown in Smyrna to see another grandchild, Adrianna Reed, "turn on" in basketball. Madison Gaither is also a member of the team so Betty and Terry Thomas "just had to be there" to support her.

Between games, the Thomases and we enjoyed a visit with Sue and Robert Patterson who lived close by. They were excited to tell us of their recent trip to Washington, DC.

It was Gideons International Day at Prosperity Baptist Church Sunday. State Representative Mark Pody was the guest speaker.

Monday night, Robbie Owen, P-pa and I were off to Gassaway to see what the new market had to offer in the way of a meal. It was opening day and the new management team is Donnie and Missy Ramsey.

News is short so here is this week's "Juicyism" as related to me from Marvin Davenport:

He was quite economically minded and seemed to analyze things a little different from the norm. He had checked the gas mileage (or usage) in his Datsun and had "just found out it's father from Woodbury to Auburn than it is from here to over there". Some of us asked him, "How is that?" He told us, "It takes 10 cents worth of gas to go over there and 11 cents to get back." His odometer didn't work on the little red Datsun but apparently that didn't keep him from measuring distance.

Here are the birthday coming up this week. On the 15th, LaTonya Cantrell hits the 38 mark and Cody Kennedy turns 22. Shirley Allen and Betty Sue Pitts Hayes have theirs on the 16th. Lori Jackson Smith adds on a year on the 17th. We skip all the way to the 21st, the last day, and we see Alan Hayes, Haleigh Scott, Hannah McCrary, Lisa Reed, Laura Kennedy and Don Rigsby all celebrating. Happy birthday to all of you.

May 17th must be a good day for weddings. Nick and Leah Bryan Wilson, B. J. and Esther Bobo, and Don and Bonnie Rigsby celebrate their anniversary. The 20th Ricky and Joan Bryson celebrate theirs. Happy anniversary you all.
