Athletic Council Announces Sponsorship Opportunities

In need of funds to help pay off the debt it owes on the Sports Complex at the high school, the Cannon County Athletic Council is conducting a number of fundraising events.

One way to help support their efforts is by simply going out to eat.

Persons wanting to enjoy a great meal and help support local youth sports at the same time have the opportunity to do so during the current high school football season.

Joe's Place on the Square in Woodbury has agreed to donate a percentage of its profits from every meal sold on Tuesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. to the Athletic Council.

Joe's Place, known far and wide for its outstanding hamburgers and all-you-can-eat salad bar, is located across from the Cannon County Courthouse on South Tatum St.

Another way businesses or individuals can contribute is by sponsoring one foot of space at the Cannon County Sports Complex for $10.00 — ($10/ft= 5 for $50, 10 for $100, etc).

All donations are tax deductible. Sponsors will be provided a receipt, a Certificate of Sponsorship, as well as Name Recognition on the building. These donations/sponsorships go directly to paying the note to the bank for the Complex located next to the Cannon County High School.

Additionally, you can sponsor a locker for $200.00 (name recognition will be on brass name plates on each locker) or there are two locker rooms still in need of sponsorship; Soccer and Softball for $5000.

The Complex was built for the Cannon County Youth for Weight Training, Locker Rooms, Coaches Office Space as well as Storage. This 6,000 square foot facility is there for all Sports in Cannon County.

Please contact Christine Unrue at 615-579-7519 or email atcunrue@realtracs.com for more information or to donate.

Thank you very much in advance for helping this very important cause- any amount you can sponsor will be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion this is a total incorrect statement "This 6,000 square foot facility is there for all Sports in Cannon County". Are the cheerleader allow to go in and use the weight machine? Can West Side basketball players use them? I'll give you one better can the soccer team or the golf team use the lockers there? The answers to the questions from above would be a flat no. The Football coach would not ever allow it to happen. Call it what it is---the Football Field House. Like it or not this is why it's hard to raise funds to pay for it.
