Young Charged With Bringing Contraband Into Jail



A Morrison woman was caught recently trying to bring tobacco into the Cannon County Jail.

• Shannon Rene Young, 7211 Ivy Bluff Rd., Morrison, was charged with bringing contraband into the Cannon County Jail on Jan. 28 by Deputy Randy Neal. Young allegedly had eight tubes of tobacco rolled up and placed inside container bottles. Bond was set at $6,000. Initial court date is March 1.

• Jeffrey Dwayne Nichols, 213 E. High St., Woodbury, was charged with driving on a revoked license, first offense, by Woodbury Asst. Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham on Jan. 30 following a traffic stop on McMinnville Hwy. Bond was set at $1,000. Initial court date is Feb. 15.

• Joseph William Knuff, 113 S. Clinch St., Woodbury, was charged with driving on a suspended license, second offense, by Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown on Jan. 28 following a traffic stop on W. Main St. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 15.

• Charles D. Johnson Jr., 1295 Bullpen Creek Rd., Woodbury, was charged with filing a false report on Jan. 30 by CCSD Deputy Randy Neal. Johnson allegedly told two deputies false information about a domestic incident which had allegedly occurred at his residence. Johnson told Deputy Eric Moss and Deputy Neal that the victim was not at his residence and that no one had assaulted her. The victim was found at the resident and she had been assaulted. Bond was set at $3,500. Initial court date is March 1.

• Alyssa Marie Coleman, 679 Sunny Slope Rd., Woodbury, was charged with driving on a suspended license, first offense, on Jan. 28 by Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown following a traffic stop on W. High St. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 15.

• Nathan Levi Cook, 692 Todd Rd., Woodbury, was charged with failing to change his address with the Tennessee Department of Safety database connected with his driver’s license on Jan. 30 by Woodbury Patrolam John Fesmire. Cook has lived at another address in excess of 10 days, the complaint alleges. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is March 29.
