WPD Makes DUI Arrest, CCSO Probes Bogus Bank Account



Following are the latest arrest and incident reports as recorded by the Woodbury Police Department and the Cannon County Sheriff's Department.

Readers are advised that an allegation or report of a crime does not necessarily constitute a crime, or even that one took place. All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Woodbury Police Department Incident Reports

11.13.2009 — Alan C. Dickson was charged with DUI after failing a sobriety test and admitting to consuming alcohol before driving.

12.14.2009 — Christopher Paul Lafever was charged with driving on a suspended license 4th offense.

12.17.2009 — Officer Brown and Chief Burnett responded to a stolen tag called in by Ms. Michelle Frazier of 908 Jennings Ct. She first noticed the tag was missing when she arrived in Murfreesboro on a shopping trip and does not know where or when it went missing.

CCSO Incident Reports

12.17.2009 — David Reed brought in a purse he found on Jim Cummings Hwy around Eugene Rd. Investigation has not yet revealed the purse's owner.

12.17.2009 — Vance Walker took a report from Terry Steagall and his neighbor Larry. About a year ago someone in a Toyota truck with rare "bullet hole" wheels had taken some scrap and car parts from Mr. Steagall's property. Neighbor Larry spotted the man on his way out and recently saw the same truck at Parsley's. He took down the tag and it came back to William David Sweeny. The investigation is ongoing.

12.17.2009 — Dep. Gullett responded to a possible animal cruelty charge on Pleasent Ridge Rd. There he observed several horses and mules. The deputy attempted to make contact with the owner but was unable. The animals all looked to be well-fed and had access to water.

12.18.2009 — Dep. James Bryson responded to a break-in that had already occurred at 1065 Half Acre Rd. There Dale Johnson stated that he came home and found his back door outer glass was shattered, another door had been pried on, and a window had been pushed in. The only things missing were some medication and a plastic container of cleaning supplies. The house was empty as of about 0720hrs until 1705. The house had been broken into two years prior and the same window was used.

12.18.2009 — Dep. James R. Bryson was dispatched to 149 Lorance Rd. in reference to trespassing. There Chase Pelham reported that four men had approached wanting to fight, two of whom were Darrell and Tyler Green. They left in a newer white Jimmy when Pelham called the police. Mr. Pelham was advised that since the men had been told not to come back, he could seek a summons for trespassing if they were to return.

12.18.2009 — Dep. Fann responded to a complaint of a prowler at 10084 Hollow Springs Rd. There Jay Bean reported that at about 2345hrs his dog started barking and when he looked outside a man was walking toward his barns. Bean walked outside and yelled at the man, who turned and ran east. Mr. Bean described the man as white, 6'2", about 190 lbs in faded blue jeans, dark blue work jacket, brown stocking cap and tennis shoes. Nothing was noticed missing from the property.

12.19.2009 — Dep. James Bryson responded to a trespassing call at 251 McCall Ln where Mary Nadeau reported that she found some blood on her front porch. The source of the blood remains undetermined but it could have been a wild animal or anything.

12.19.2009 — Deputy Patrick Fann was dispatched to 4090 Jim Cummings Hwy for an EMS assist because the caller seemed intoxicated and there was an unresponsive man on the floor. Upon arrival, two women (Lisa Hallmon and Kim Phillips) were in the back crying and shouting "he's not breathing" over an over. Fann located the Mr. Jim Frazier's body and checked for a pulse but the body was cold and there was none. EMS personnel confirmed the man had been deceased for a while. The women reported that Mr. Frazier and a Mr. Hanson had been drinking heavily and roughhousing through the night. Both men passed out at some point. Ms. Hallmon woke up at around 5 A.M. and when she went to check on Frazier found him not breathing. Fann then woke Mr. Hanson who could not believe Frazier was dead and kept trying to get to the body. He said Frazier had drank most of a bottle of Fighting Cock and most of a a bottle of Wild Turkey. Cpt. Wilder, Officer Andy Bryson, and Dr. Reuhland arrived and began to process the scene. The body was taken to Stones River Hospital for evaluation where a terminal B.A.C. of .40 was detected and attributed as the cause of death. There were no signs of physical altercation.

12.20.2009 — Deputy Fann was dispatched for an EMS assist due to the resident calling and reporting persistent suicidal thoughts. Caller was found crying on the couch stating that "everything was wrong." She said that she could not afford help but Dep. Fann advised her that he could help her. EMS arrived and she voluntarily went to Stones River Hospital for evaluation.

12.20.2009 — Deputy Bryson was dispatched to the intersection of Espy & K. Parker Rd. for an accident with a possibly intoxicated driver. There he found a gray F-150 truck with the tires spun so far into the ground the bumper was hitting the soil. Mr. Dustin Rogers said he'd been driving the vehicle but that the yard he was stuck in was actually his destination. The property owner confirmed this and Dep. Bryson advised Mr. Rogers to move the truck ASAP so they would stop getting calls about it. Mr. Rogers said someone was on their way with a chain to help get the vehicle unstuck.

12.20.2009 — Russell Vickers reported an accident wherein he hit a large dog, damaging his bumper and license plate holder. The report was necessary for insurance purposes.

12.21.2009 — Mary L. Brown, manager of Piggly Wiggly, reported that Lisa Pyles purchased 8 cartons of cigarettes and a few other items totaling $406.64 with a check from an account that does not exist. Mrs. Brown was advised to wait for the check to return worthless and then charges could be pursued.
