On February 2, 2017, the Woodland SPDG (Special Populations Development Grant) Team attended the PIE (Partners in Education) Conference at Music City Center in Nashville.

At this conference, attendees were privileged to hear Dr. Carol Ann Tomlinson discuss ways to differentiate instruction in the classroom in an effort to help all students learn. Differentiation means that all students are given what they need in order to be successful in the classroom. She and Mike Murphy discussed the need and importance of differentiation with teachers, principals, and central office personnel from all over the state.

They also offered ideas of how differentiation can be implemented in classrooms. The team left the conference with a greater understanding of differentiation and how it benefits all students in the classroom.
