Woodbury Nursing Center Wins National Quality Award

NASHVILLE -- Ten member facilities of the Tennessee Health Care Association (THCA) are receiving 2010 National Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) for their commitment to quality in the long-term care industry.

Loudon Health Care Center is one of 38 facilities nationwide to receive the Silver – Achievement in Quality award. Silver award winners have demonstrated achievement in quality and good performance outcomes resulting from the way they embrace AHCA’s core concepts of visionary leadership and maintain a resident-centered focus.

Nine THCA members were among the 456 AHCA members that won the Bronze – Commitment to Quality award. Those facilities were:

• Four Oaks Health Care Center, Jonesborough

• Hancock Manor Nursing Home, Sneedville

• Hillcrest Health Care – South, Knoxville

• Life Care Center of Bruceton-Hollow Rock

• Life Care Center of East Ridge

• Maplewood Health Care, Jackson

• Oneida Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

• Tri-County Healthcare Center, Adamsville

• Woodbury Nursing Center

Bronze award winners have taken the first step in the process of quality improvement through developing an organizational profile that includes vision and mission statements along with awareness of their environment and customers’ expectations. These facilities can now work toward earning their silver awards.

“These awards demonstrate our members’ commitment to improving quality in the long-term care industry,” said THCA Executive Director Ron Taylor. “It is an honor to join AHCA in recognizing these facilities for exemplifying the high level of quality that Tennessee’s nursing homes provide.”

The facilities will be honored for their outstanding achievement and presented with their awards during AHCA’s 61st Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 10-13, 2010, in Long Beach, Calif.
