Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Thursday. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Jared Ian Smith pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation. His probation was extended and he was ordered to serve 9 days in jail.

Chase W. Pelham pled guilty to the charge of simple possession of schedule drugs. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $750.00 fine and paying the court costs. In addition, he was ordered to submit to drug screens for at least 60 days.

Randy Durham was set for motions hearing on May 7, 2010 and a jury trial on June 16, 17 and 18, 2010. He is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of Ronnie Baxter in November 2008.

Angela Trisler pled guilty to the charge of TennCare fraud and maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell schedule drugs. She received a total prison sentence of 2 years as a standard 30 percent offender. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $2,000.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Crystal McMahon was reset for April 9, 2010. She is charged with TennCare fraud.

James G. Vanatta pled guilty to felony possession of marijuana and simple possession of marijuana. He received a total prison sentence of 18 months. That sentence was suspended upon 11 months, 29 days probation, paying a $3,500.00 fine and paying the court costs. In addition, he will submit to drug screens for at least 60 days.

Octavius Smith’s petition for suspended sentence was denied by Judge Ash.

Debbie Renea Israel pled guilty to the charges of maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell drugs and two counts of sale of schedule 3 drugs. She was sentenced to a total of 4 years in prison and ordered to serve her entire sentence.

Samuel Fabozzi was appointed an attorney and reset for April 9, 2010. He is charged with aggravated assault.

Kevin Boyce Pope was ordered to serve 3 years in prison. He did not request a suspended sentence.
