Woman ‘Cuts’ Off Relationship With Keys

Yolanda Marie Martinez, 924 McMinnville Hwy., Woodbury, was charged with Domestic Assault on Aug. 12 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire.

The officer was dispatched to that address after the purported victim stated his fiancée had cut him with some keys.

While en route to the location Officer Fesmire was advised the alleged assailant had left in a white Grand Prix GT and was westbound. He passed the vehicle at O’Reilly Auto Parts turned around, and initiated a traffic stop near The Scoreboard restaurant.

Martinez stated she and her boyfriend had been having relationship problems. She said she was sunbathing when he stepped on her face. Officer Fesmire did not observe any markings on her face at that point. She then said he kicked at her head when she was on the ground.

Martinez said she then ran into the house. While inside she said her boyfriend tried to prevent her from leaving. She said she swung at him with some keys and then left.

Officer Fesmire then went to speak with the victim. He stated he had decided to leave the residence and go live with his parents. He said an argument ensued and when he tried to give Martinez the spare key to the home, she cut him with it. He had an open wound on his left cheek between 3-4 inches in length.

Martinez was arrested and bond was set at $500. Initial court date is Sept. 25.
