Winters Scores Lone Touchdown For Jr. High Team In Loss



School has started and so has football on the Middle Grade level. The Cannon County Lions Jr. High Football program opened their 8 game regular season Thursday night with a contest against a familiar foe in Westwood from Manchester. Current Cannon Jr. High Coach Ken Lockhart spent several years as the head coach of the Rockets before returning to Cannon County.
Westwood won the opener 22-6. Cannon scored the lone touchdown from Theo Winters who escaped pressure and sprinted 41 yards to the end zone with 26 seconds left to go before halftime.
