'Window shopping' results in arrest
Staff A Smyrna couple was arrested after an alert neighbor spotted them doing "some window shopping" at a home on Hollow Springs Road. Charged were Joshua Edward Herman, 31, and Amber L. Fleming, 31. Responding to the call were Sgt. Melanie McCormick and Deputy Andrew Colwell who discovered Herman and Fleming in the backyard of a residence. "When asked what they were doing there, they stated that their friends had to run down the road to get some clothes and that they could not go and that the friends were coming back for them," McCormick reported. "I asked them where they lived several times and got different addresses every time," the sergeant reported. Officers then placed Herman under arrest for criminal impersonation. Both Herman and Fleming were charged with criminal trespass. Fleming was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a black case containing two syringes and a spoon with a milky, white substance on it. An April 1 hearing was set for General Sessions Court.
