Mr. William Robert "Bill" Moore of Woodbury, TN passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Woodbury Nursing Center at the age of 79. He was born November 9, 1936 on Sugar Tree Knob in Cannon County, TN. Bill was a graduate of the Central High School Class of 1956. In 1959, he married Betty Sue Hill and together they had two children, Kimberly Kay and William Robert, Jr. Bill worked for DeZurik Southern Corporation in McMinnville, TN for 34 years prior to his retirement. He was also the keeper of the Cannon County Courthouse clock after his father retired from the same position. Bill handed down his knowledge of the clock to his son, Bobby, as the third generation clock keeper. He was a quiet man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had an avid interest in genealogy and Cannon County history. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, former coworkers and his community of the last year of his life at Sunnington Assisted Living Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Kim (Mike) Bailey and son, Bobby (Connie) Moore. He was a doting grandfather to Susan Elisabeth (Brian) Beaird, Sarah Paige (Austin) Ford, Austin Robert Moore and Abbye Rae Moore; great grandfather to Ivy Eliana and Olivia Rose Beaird; big brother to his sisters, Mary Lou Boynton, Patricia Sue McGinnis, Gloria Jean (James) Bogle and Geraldine (Edwin) Young. He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Gloria Moore and Linda Moore and one brother-in-law, Ken Pichulo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents William "Bill" Moore and Eula Mae Stephens Moore, and his siblings Hugh Edward Moore, Eliza Ann Pichulo and John Lee Moore.

A celebration of Bill's life will include a time for the family to share memories with friends and family at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 4-8 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11 am in the Smith Funeral Home chapel with Al Bugg, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cannon County Historical Society (contact Smith Funeral Home for details).
