William Allen Bryson, Sr. age 83, died Sept. 12 at Alvin C. York Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Cannon County and the son of the late Dexter & Gertrude Campbell Bryson & was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Stacey.

Mr. Bryson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mallie L. "Judy" Bryson of Woodbury; 7 children: William "Bill" (Joan) Bryson Jr. of Lebanon, Michael Ray "Cricket" (Geraldine) Bryson of Woodbury, Melinda Kay (Wade) Simmons of Manchester, Terry Dwight (Rita) Bryson of Readyville, Sharon Frances (Larry) Reeves of Murfreesboro, Robert Earl "Robbie" (Debra) Bryson of Woodbury & Rita Michelle (Alan) Hale of Murfreesboro; 1 Brother, Johnny Bryson of Readyville. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Gardens with full military honors provided by VFW & Am. Legion of McMinnville.

He was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ, a veteran of WW II serviving in the Army and a retired business owner & minister.

Visitation will be Monday until 8 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home, 615-563-2311.
