Waldon Tarpley

Waldon Tarpley, age 86 of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011.

He was a native of Cannon County., the son of the late Leaborn and Dora Duggin Tarpley and a veteran of U.S. Navy for 4 years serving during WWII. He was retired from Red Stone Arsenal after 32 years of teaching missile commands to foreign students. He was a preacher for 17 years and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

Survivors:

Wife: Trudy Whisenant Tarpley of Fayetteville.

Sons: David Tarpley and his wife Dr. Kris Gowan Tarpley of Asheville, NC and Atty. Dale Tarpley of Tampa, FL.

Grandchildren: Camron and Lauren Tarpley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Waldrena Tarpley and his brother, Doyle Tarpley.

Graveside services will be held at Riverside Gardens Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, November 4.
