Volleyball turns in busy week

Cannon County suffered a pair of tough losses on the volleyball court during a busy week.

The Lionettes lost a 3-0 decision against Watertown (25- 21, 25-19, 25-23). Cannon County was in every game but could never get over the hump. Ariana Kailiponi led the Lionettes with seven blocks. Abbey Spry added three, and Marion Wallace and Emily Sissom each had two. Sissom also had three assists and Kailiponi added 2. Spry and Wallace had three digs each.

The Lionettes had similar results in a District 8-AA match against Smith County.

They were in ever game but suffered a 3-0 loss (25-20, 25-23, 25-13). The pivotal second game turned the match. Kailiponi had another strong game at the net and turned in three kills and and two digs. Spry added six

tips, followed by Sissom with four. Marion Wallace led the team with three digs, followed

by Kailiponi with 2.
