Veterans And Concerned Citizens Meeting Sept. 22

The Veterans and Concerned Citizens for the Veterans of Cannon County will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Senior Citizens Center in Woodbury.

This is our final meeting for nominations for our 2011 Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal, our Service Marshals (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard), our POW Marshal, and our Concerned Citizen Marshal.

In October we elect our marshals from those who have been nominated. This year we are trying to get all World War II veterans to fill these nominations. If you know a World War II veteran from any of the military service branches that you would like to nominate, call Jim Stone at 615-563-6111. All of our World War I Veterans are gone.

Let's honor our World War II Veterans while we can. We are also planning our Veteran's Day Program at the Cannon County High School on Friday, November 11, and our Annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 12.
