Two Plead Guilty To Pot Possession



Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday, May 17. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

• Jeffrey L. Davis, Jr., pled guilty to a charge of simple possession of marijuana. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He was fined $500 and ordered to pay court costs. A charge of assault was dismissed without cost.

 • Jennifer Marlene Elkins pled guilty to a charge of simple possession of marijuana. She was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. She was fined $250 and ordered to pay court costs. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed without cost.

 • Lindsey Marie Farless pled guilty to violation of the bumper law. She was fined $2 and ordered to pay court costs. Charges of driving without a license and violation of the seatbelt law were dismissed.

• Adam Clint George had charged of DUI, manufacture of methamphetamine, initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine, simple possession of Schedule VI drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia bound over to the May Term of the Cannon County Grand Jury, which meets Friday.

 • Jason Lee Hodge, charged with two counts of violation of probation, first offense, failed a drug screen in court. His probation was revoked and he was remanded to the custody of the Cannon County Sheriff's Dept. His next court date is June 21.

• Nathan Daniel Mingle, charged with underage possession and/or consumption of alcohol, was continued for 12 months subject to good and lawful behavior. He was also ordered to pay court costs.

 • Rosalind Moore, charged with DUI, pled guilty to a reduced charged of reckless endangerment. She was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and ordered to serve six days in the Cannon County Jail. She was also placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, fined $500 and order to pay court costs.

• Tammy Renee Southers, charged with driving on a revoked license and possession of a Legend drug, was bound over to the September Team of the grand jury.

• William Kelly Spradley pled guilty to driving without a license. He was given a 30 day suspended sentence and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He was fined $2 and assessed court costs. Charges of violation of the financial responsibility and registration laws were dismissed, but Spradley was ordered to pay court costs on the registration violation charge.

• Cory Lee Crawford Young, charged with underage consumption and/or possession of alcohol, was continued for 12 months subject to good and lawful behavior.
