Two Charged With Theft, Vandalism



Two men were arrested recently on charges of Theft under $500 and Vandalism under $500 following an investigation by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department.

Charged with allegedly committing those crimes by Deputy Brandon Gullett were Kory Lyndell Smith, 7607 McMinnville Hwy., Woodbury and Russell Craig “Cotton” Jennings.

The pair allegedly stole items from the owner of the property at the corner of Pleasant View Rd. and Parker Rd. on Oct. 28.

Items reported as taken included a shovel, several pieces of metal and a metal bucket.

The items were taken from a wooden barn which sites inside a fenced area which is secured by a metal gate, which was also secured. The investigation showed the gate chain to be hanging from a fence post.

The vandalism charge stems from damage to the ground and to the shovel being broken as Smith and Parker were using it after getting stuck in an attempt to leave the property after alleging committing the time.

Deputy Mike Smith assisted in the investigation and arrest.

Total bond for both men was set at $5,000. Their initial court date is Dec. 6.
