Two Charged With Hunting Violations



Two men were charged with illegal hunting activities on Oct. 21 following an incident on Marshall Creek Road in Auburntown.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officer Mark Vance charged Drew Evin Henley, 804 Fites Lane, with Hunting Without a License and Hunting With an Illegal Weapon (rifle during bow season).

Officer Vance also charged Randy Lee Tombs, 115 Odom Lane, Woodbury, with Bow Hunting While Accompanied by a Person Carrying a Firearm.

According to the citation, Tombs had been hunting deer with a bow north of Marshall Creek Rd. Tombs was accompanied by Henley, who had in his possession a rifle, for the stated purpose of coyote hunting. It is a violation of T.C.A. 70-4-123 to be accompanied by a person carrying a firearm while deer hunting during the archery-only portion of the deer season.

It is also a violation of state law to hunt coyotes during the archery-only portion of the deer season.

Initial court date for both men is Dec. 6.
