Two Burglaries Net Chapman Two Sentences



Corey Chapman pled guilty to one count of aggravated burglary and to one count of auto burglary Thursday (Sept. 1) in Cannon County General Sessions Court.

He received a 6 year partially suspended sentence on the first charge and 2 years on the second. He will serve 6 years on state probation. He was assessed court costs and ordered to pay costs, restitutions and fines as directed by the probation service.

Chapman was also ordered not to have any contact with the victim or the victim’s family. He served 3 months in the county jail and was released on time served.

The first offense took place on Jan. 10 when Chapman stole a TV from the victim, which he pawned, and the second occurred on May 31 when he broke into the victim’s car and stole a variety of items including cash, credit cards and a camera.
