Cannon County senior standout Abbey Sissom, right, (shown with Lionettes Head Coach Michael Dodgen) will sign with Middle Tennessee State women’s basketball Wednesday. Sissom will become the first Division I signee from Cannon County since Julie Powell signed to play women’s basketball with Vanderbilt. Sissom is a two-time Miss Basketball Finalist in Tennessee and is braced to join the 2,000-club early in the 2013-14 season.
