Transportation woes: Schools down three buses

It's been a rough start on the road for Cannon County Schools this week.

Some working parents have had to take their children to school because of a bus not being available to run certain routes.

Lisa Black, director of transportation for the school system, said the problem is being addressed as rapidly as possible.

"We have two buses down due to failed inspections," Black said Thursday morning. "One was an air leak and the other an exhaust leak. We have a third bus that broke down on Monday. Currently we have a total of 3 buses down, all three are expected to be up and running later today."

School buses are inspected by Tennessee State Troopers to make sure they are safe.

"We are working hard to provide transportation to all students by offering double routes and second loads," Black said.
