Trading Post Chat

Holy Cow Folks..... do I actually feel a HINT of fall in the air? That's great, perfect weather for all the activities coming up in our Short Mountain area! Had some visitors this past week end, but it was pretty sticky and humid, so think most of you stayed inside.

Football season has started up! GO TITANS! Best of luck to all the high school football teams and the junior leagues as well. Both my sons played football back in the day and my youngest one received a scholarship and continued to play college ball. I absolutely loved watching the kids play. Such teamwork between the boys and the parents and fans were so supportive. It was exciting to be part of it all and boy, did I learn the ins and outs of football!

I was high school Team Mom for four years and loved every minute of it! It was the highlight of my life! I hope all you parents out there feel the same way and enjoy it while you can. It all becomes a memory in a flash. Make it a good one!

One more thing on this subject: Winning is NOT everything, it's how you play the game and there's always another game right around the corner so try again. The important thing is that your child is participating and you are right there with him. That's where you win in your hearts and the love of the game!

Onward to the Short Mountain Trading Post fall activities. As you know, I have been talking about the Spooktacuar Fest and Fall Flea Market Day. It is set for Saturday, October 11 from 10 to 5. Contact me, Savannah, to reserve your FREE vendor space. Call 615-464-7824 to do so.

Many fun Halloween and fall activities will take place that day including a Trunk or Treat event, costume contest, great food, crafts and fun shopping. Admission is free. Also, we are presently raffling off a terrific turkey fryer. When you stop at the Post, buy your chances at $1 per ticket or 10 for $5. Winner will be announced at the Spooktacular Fest. You need not be present to win so get your chances now!

Remember that the Trading post is open Thursdays thru Saturdays from 10 to 5. We also have space available for any craft people who wish to join us. Call me at the phone number above for further information. We are all decorated for Halloween already so bring your camera and take those photo treasures home with you!

The Short Mountain Distillery is hosting their Moonshine Day on September 20 so make sure you attend. Sounds like a lot of fun and tickets at the gate. See you there!

My Auntie Julia is all upset with that Uncle Bubba of mine. She called to tell me that she suspected Bubba was cheating on her. All kinds of upset with those two! She said that when she confronted him with the evidence he denied everything and said he would never do it again. W-H-A-T? (Come again?) On top of that, Fester's son, Cousin Walter, joined the Navy to see the world. Well, now he's seen it, He's says, Now, how do I get out? (It ain't that easy, Cuz....) Well, I certainly hope Fester handled it properly, but the way he handles his own personal problems, things don't look that promising!

My sister's ex, Billy Bob has been paying a psychiatrist $50 an hour for two and half years. She said that he sure didn't have to do that.....HE MUST BE CRAZY! (Now, that IS the truth...)

Well, while I back track and check up with this family of mine, I will sign off for now. You folks take care and remember I care about all of you.

Enjoy life and each other. Be nice. Smile. Laugh. Deep breath when things are a bit much. Come see me at the Trading Post. Chat with you next week.
Hugs, Savannah
