Trading Post Chat

Hey, guess what ..... I think I know where all of our warmer weather has come from all of a sudden....All the folks from Florida! Yes, indeed, we were swamped with Florida visitors at the Trading Post over Memorial Day week-end. Not to leave out the California gals that had such a grand time. We have a sign-in and comment book for everyone to log in. At the end of each day, I read it and feel so rewarded with the appreciation and generous comments that have been written. It only proves that all our hard work has paid off.

It has just reminded me to once again stress to all of you how important it is to compliment your local merchants, service people, neighbors and most of all your family members. It turns so much around to tell your husband what a great job he does in providing for his family, coaching a youngster's team, repairing things around the house and that you would be lost without him. Greet your wife with a Hey Good-Lookin', compliment her cooking, how nice the house looks, her care of the children and her ongoing dedication of being mommy and wife. Even if all of these items need a little more work and could stand a little more improvement...it's the overwhelming fact that you recognize and appreciate those special people in your life. Try it, it works!

Well, being a holiday brings on one of the family picnics that we have throughout the year. Thus, all the characters who put the spice in the life of the party show up. There was Uncle Leonard who stresses the fact that he constantly exercises and works out at the local spot. I have a feeling that the way he looks, his favorite spot is not the gym....as his six-pack has turned into a keg. Then Granny Clara brings her local moonshine and before long: She walks, She talks, She throws her cane! A real sideshow! Oh, wait there's more... Cousin Clyde, a local fisherman and shark hunter back in the day, always has a saying that if you chum, they will come. Well, Honey, I think Clyde wears that chum and has totally forgotten what a shower is for! Then there is Nellie, Eugene and Polly who all talk at once about totally different subjects, but yet seem to enjoy and understand it all.....so we let it go and hope they don't migrate into our circles of conversations. Ya' just gotta love it...because when they are all gone...they will be missed. Everyone has their own recognizable trait that they are remembered for, regardless of how awful crazy or downright pleasant....enjoy it for what it is. Ever wonder what they will remember you for? Think about that one, too.

Hey, guess what...more and more people are signing up for our FLEA MARKET scheduled for Saturday June 7th from 10 to 5. Keep those calls coming. FREE Space...just bring your own tables.
