Tornado Watch, Wind Advisory In Effect Through Afternoon
A tornado watch and wind advisory is in effect for Cannon and surrounding countues through late this afternoon.

Winds of between 20 and 30 mph... with gust in excess of 35 mph can be expected through 4 PM as a strong pressure gradient develops.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 25 to 39 mph and/or gusts of 35 to 57 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

This morning, a strong surface low and associated cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to middle Tennessee. Scattered showers will move across the area ahead of the main line of showers and thunderstorms. This main line will enter the northwestern counties around 9 am...and will continue moving into the mid state.

Some thunderstorms may become severe...and could produce damaging winds and possibly isolated tornadoes. Additionally...a tight pressure gradient in advance of the approaching boundary will continue to cause elevated wind speeds across the mid state. Look for sustained wind speeds of 20 to 30 mph...along with wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
