Three Plead Guilty To DUI

Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The results of some of the cases on the docket are as follows:

Kermit James Peebles, III pled guilty to DUI 1st offense. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He must serve 2 days in the county jail, 24 hours of community service, pay a $350 fine and court costs. His driver’s license was revoked for 1 year. The state dropped charges of violation of the implied consent law, simple possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

David Estil Tipton pled guilty to DUI 1st offense. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, placed on probation for 11 months, 27 days, order to serve 21 days in the county jail and serve 24 hours of community service, fined $350 and assessed court costs, and had his license revoked for one year.

Dustin Tyler Culver pled guilty to DUI 1st offense and simple possess of marijuana. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 10 months, 19 days on each offense, placed on probation for 10 months, 19 days on each offense (to run concurrent), ordered to serve 40 days in the Cannon County Jail, ordered to perform 24 hours of community service on litter removal, fined a total of $600, assessed court costs, instructed to attend DUI School, and had his license revoked for one year.

Samer W. Abdalla pled guilty to driving on a suspended license. A sentencing hearing was set for Nov. 29. If he has his license restored during that time the charge will be reduced to driving without a license.

Andrew Scott Asbury pled guilty to a reduced charge of driving without a license. He was given a 30-day suspended sentenced, placed on probation for an equal amount of time, fined $2 and assessed court costs.

Larry Ricky Blair, Jr. pled guilty to violation of probation. He was sentenced to 10 days in the Cannon County Jail and his probation was extended 11 months, 29 days. A public intoxication charged was dropped by the state.

Michael Richard Blake, charged with DUI, was reset for Oct. 11.

Brandon Michael Brown forfeited a cash bond on a worthless check charge and the charge was dropped.

Tiffany Ann Carpenter, charged with driving on a suspended license 3rd offense and violation of probation 2nd offense, was reset for Sept. 27.

Jimmy Wayne Chapman pled guilty to one count of domestic assault. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He was ordered to forfeit a weapon and was assessed court costs.

Randall Ewing Council pled guilty to theft of merchandize under $500. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, placed on probation for an equal amount of time, ordered to pay restitution and was assessed court costs.

Erica Danielle Cunningham pled guilty to violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 9 days and the Cannon County Jail and she was placed back on probation for 10 months, 20 days.

Cassandra L. Deaton had a preliminary hearing on a worthless check charge set for Oct. 4.

Dara A. Dillard agreed to a 6 month order of retirement on a domestic assault charge. No court costs were assessed.

Samuel Charles Dollar pled guilty to violation of the financial responsibility law and was fined $100. He also pled guilty to violation of the seatbelt law and was fined $10. , speeding (68/55), violations of the driver’s license, registration, insurance and seatbelt laws. Charges of speeding, driver’s license violation and registration law violation were dismissed upon payment of costs.

Timothy Eugene Ellis requested to serve his full 30 day jail sentence on a guilty plea to the charge driving without a license charge. He was also assessed court costs.

Cory Wade Foster admitted to guilt on a charge of theft under $500. He agreed to an order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days. He was assessed court costs, ordered to attend drug rehabilitation, and report to probation once per month until all costs are paid.

Robert Blake Foster forfeited a cash bond on a worthless check charge and the case was dismissed.

Joseph Tyler Green, charged with carrying a weapon and evading arrest, was reset for a later date.

William Ronnie Hayes entered an admission of guilt to a charge of hindering a secured creditor. He agreed to an order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days and payment of the litigation tax. He also must pay restitution in the amount of $1,138.90.

Jenny Lee Haynes forfeited a cash bond on a worthless check charge and the case was dismissed.

Hugh Anderson Holliman entered an admission of guilt to a charge of theft of conveyed rental property. He agreed to an order of retired for 11 months, 29 days, payment of  court costs and must contact probation services once per month.

Larry Nile Hollis’ petition for a suspended sentence was denied by Judge Melton.

Bridgette Shayne Johnson pled guilty to violation of probation. She was sentenced to serve 27 days in the county jail and her probation was extended for 10 months, 2 days. She also admitted to guilt on a charge of  public intoxication. She agreed to a 6 month order of retirement and payment of the litigation tax and court costs.

James R. Kaiser, charged with aggravated assault (eight counts), was reset for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 11. He will also undergo a mental evaluation.

William David Labbe, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, was reset for Oct. 25.

Robert Michael Mason has charged of DUI, violation of the implied consent law and criminal trespass scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 6.

Thomas Zeb Massey admitted to guilt on a charge of driving on a suspended license 3rd offense. He agreed to an order of retirement for a period of 11 months, 29 days and was ordered to pay the litigation tax and contact probation services monthly.

Troy Fred McCormick, charged with violation of probation 1st offense, was reset for Oct. 25.

Beverly Gene McLees admitted to guilt on a charge of public intoxication. She agreed to an order of retirement for 6 months and was assessed court costs.

David Ray Murphy pled guilty to the charge of simple assault. He was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days and assessed court costs.

Betty Jean Olson, charged with possession of a controlled substance, DUI 1st offense, violation of the implied consent law and violation of the financial responsibility law, was reset for Sept. 20.

Kyle J. Ortkiese, charged with DUI 1st offense, driving on a suspended license 1st offense, simple possession of a Schedule IV drug, disorderly conduct, violation of the implied consent law, reckless driving, theft (joyriding) and violation of the seatbelt law, applied for judicial diversions and his case was reset for Sept. 27.

Ernest Brian Osment was in court on charges of possession of a Legend drug and conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution. He was appointed the public defender to represent him, assessed a $20 administrative fee, and his case was rescheduled for Sept. 27.

Charles Scott Parker entered a conditional plea of guilty to the charge of simple assault. He was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, ordered to stay away from the victim and the location of the incident, and to pay court costs.

Dorothy R. Parker, charged with filing false statements and resisting arrest, was reset for Sept. 27.

Glenn O. Parrish applied for judicial division on an assault charge and his case was reset for Sept. 27.

Cameron Taylor Smith entered a conditional plea of guilty to the charge of simple possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, fined $150 and assessed court costs.  He was pled guilty to speeding and was fined $2 and assesses court costs. A seatbelt law violation charge was dismissed.

Donald Wayne Smith pled guilty to violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 21 days in the county jail, his probation was extended 11 months, 15 days, and he was ordered to pay fines and court costs. Charges of DUI by consent and public intoxication were dismissed without cost.

Joseph Matthew Starnes pled guilty to the charge of driving on a suspended license, two counts. A sentencing hearing was set for Nov. 29. If he has his driver’s license restored before that date the charge will be reduced to driving without a license.

Cynthia Denise Thomas was appointed an attorney on a driver’s license violation charge and the case was reset for Sept. 27.

Jeffrey Lynn Thomas admitted to guilt on a charge of public intoxication. He agreed to an order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days and was assessed court costs.

Shawn Trimis pled guilty to driving on a suspended license. Sentencing was set for Nov. 29. If he has his driver’s license restored by that date the charge will be reduced to driving without a license.

Charlie A. Urban pled guilty to driving on a suspended license. Sentencing was set for Nov. 29. If he has his driver’s license restored by that date the charge will be reduced to driving without a license. Charges of improper use of registration and no insurance were dismissed.

John David Wallace Jr. admitted to guilt on a charge of filing a false report. He agreed to an order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days, payment of court costs, and reporting to probation services once per month. A charge of violation of probation was dismissed upon payment of the litigation tax.

Eleazer Wiggins, III forfeited a cash bond on one worthless check charge and agreed to an order of retirement on another upon payment of restitution.

Hope Dennis pled guilty to violation of probation. She was sentenced to served 21 days in the county jail and placed back on probation for 19 months, 21 days. She also pled guilty to failure to appear on a worthless check charge and was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and ordered to pay court costs and restitution.

Jimmy Dean Robinson pled guilty to public intoxication. He was sentence to 10 days in the county jail and assessed court costs.
