Three Drive To Alcohol-Related Charges



Allegedly drinking and driving didn't mix well for three people recently arrested by local law enforcement officers.

• Holly C. Phillips, 225 John R. Rice Blvd. E-15, Murfreesboro, was charged with DUI 1st Offense on March 8 by Woodury Patrolman John House following a traffic stop in W. Main St. Bond was set at $1,500. Initial court date is May 15.

• Christopher Gayle Lorance, 565 Jimtown Road, Woodbury, was charged with DUI on March 9 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire. Patrolman Fesmire initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle Lorance was driving on McMinnville Hwy. on Nov. 4, 2011. Lorance performed field sobriety tests in a manner that seemed inconsistent with a sober driver’s performance. The results of a blood sample submitted for testing and received on March 9 were positive for several substances. Bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is April 24.

• Jessie Mitchell Burke, 358 Hidden Hollow Rd., Woodbury, was served an arrest warrant charging him with Underage Driving While Impaired on March 2. Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy M.J. Parsley charged Burke following his investigation of an incident which occurred on Jan. 7. Burke lost control of a vehicle he was driving on Doolittle Rd. on that date. Deputy Parsley had reason to believe Burke was allegedly under the influence of an intoxicant. Burke consented to blood testing, the results of which showed it had an alcohol content of .14. Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is May 1.
