THP: Woman killed in collision on U.S. Hwy. 70

A local women was killed on Saturday, Nov. 17, as the result of a collision with another vehicle, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

A report filed by Trooper Andrew Collier indicates at around 11 :08 a.m. on that date, a 1995 Mazda being driven Teresa Bogle, age 60, of Woodbury was traveling west on U.S. Highway 70.

At the same time, a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser being driven by Larry Evans, age 69, of Smithville was stopped at the stop sign on State Highway 281 at the intersection with Highway 70.

"Vehicle 1 (being driven by Evans) then entered U.S. Highway 70 and failed to yield the right of way and collided with Vehicle 2," Collier's report states.

Seat belts were in use by both drivers, the report indicates. There was no sign of alcohol or drug use on the part of either driver but blood tests will be performed as is standard procedure. Evan reportedly sustained injuries as a result of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
