‘The Secret Garden’
Arts Center of Cannon County
Continues thru March 22
The Arts Center of Cannon County presents “The Secret Garden” March 7-22 at the Arts Center of Cannon County, 1424 John Bragg Highway, Woodbury.
Tickets are available online at artscenterofcc.com and (subject to availability) at the door one hour prior to show time.
Mary Lennox, (Mackenzie Turney) a young orphan, is sent to England to live with her reclusive uncle and sickly cousin. When this neglected child discovers an equally neglected garden, she begins to bring life (and a bit of magic) back to both the garden and her uncle’s manor. This lush Broadway musical won 3 Tony Awards, including “Best Score of a Musical.”

Cannon County Historical Society Meeting
Tuesday, March 11
Cannon Courier columnist Dan Whittle will speak at the March 11 meeting of the Cannon County Historical Society at the Cannon Senior Citizens Center. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting begining at 7 p.m.

Silversneaker Class
at The Senior Center
The Senior Center will offer the Silversneaker Classic Class on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. The exercise room will also be open from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This is to provide an exercise option for our many “60+” people in the community who are still working. The class is also available for members who can’t attend some days due to other commitments. Please help us spread the word about this new concept at the Senior Center and help make it a success.

Horse Night,
Thursday, March 13
Horse Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 13 at the Woodbury Lions Club Building. Lew Strickland, Veterinarian with the University of Tennessee Extension will discuss "First Aide for Horses. Horse night is sponsored by the Cannon County Walking Horse Association.
Horse Night will begin at 6:30.

Benefit Chili Supper
Saturday, March 15
A benefit chili supper and silent auction is set 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 15 for Shane "Buck" Davis at Woodbury Grammar School.
Shane, a 20-year-old, 2012 Cannon County High School graduate, was left unable to walk due to injuries received in a Jan. 20 car accident. He is still undergoing treatment at Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Once released, he will be traveling back to Nashville for physical therapy almost daily. His therapy will continue 18 months to up to 2 years due to his injuries.
Shane's back was broken at the L1 disk with extensive spinal cord injuries. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
The benefit chili supper will feature chili, taco soup, hot dogs, strawberry shortcake, hot fudge cake, drinks and more.
A womanless beauty pageant will start at 6:30 p.m. The silent auction is for 4 to 7 p.m. with a cake walk starting at 4 p.m. until all cakes are won.

The Cantrells
Arts Center of Cannon Co.
Thursday, March 20
When Robert Redford was directing the movie "A River Runs Through It," he chose The Cantrells to perform on camera, with Al on fiddle and Emily on guitar. The Cantrells will bring their original songs, fiddle tunes, bluegrass, western swing, and jazz standards to The Arts Center of Cannon County on Thursday, March 20th.
Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $13 for students, seniors and groups and may be purchased by calling the box office at 615-563-2787 Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or online at Buy Tickets.

The 12th Annual Farm Day hosted by the Cannon County Farm Bureau and University of Tennessee Extension is scheduled for Friday, May 9 at the Cannon County Fairgrounds. Farm day is a fun filled, exciting opportunity for 4th graders throughout the County.
