Lions Club Pecan Sale
The Woodbury Lions Club has kicked off its annual Pecan Sale. For sale this year will be Pecan Halves, English Walnuts, Fruit and Nut Mix and Cashews. Again this year, the Lions have found the very best products available. Lion Clyde Bush, chairman of the sale, said he was able to secure this year's crop of pecans, which is the best crop of several years. The nuts are available at Jennings Jewelers, Vance Brothers car lot, Farmer's Co-op, Rite-Aid Pharmacy, Cannon Senior Citizen Center, Dr. Trea Wessel's office, First Bank, Paul Reed Furniture Store, First National Bank, Stones River Hospital, Regions Bank, Woodbury Funeral Home, Woodbury Nursing Center, Woodson's Pharmacy, Cutting Edge Salon and from any Lions Club member. Girl Scouts Giveaway set
Girl Scouts of Cannon County will be holding their 20th annual giveaway. This event will take place at the Cannon Community Center at 630 Lehman Street
Woodbury on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a..m. to 11 a..m. Local girl scouts gather donations of used clothing, household items, toys and furnishings from their homes, relatives and families and set up the items as in a yard/garage sale. All items are free to the public.
If you wish to donate items to the Giveaway please call to set up a time to drop them off. Items will be given away on a first come, first serve basis. If you choose to stand outside in line please come dressed for the occasion. Doors will not be opened before 9 a..m. and restrooms will be available at that time also.

Blood Drive to honor Franz Walkup
A "Community blood drive in honor of Franz Walkup" is set for Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Lions Club building at 11a.m. to 6 p.m. Help get the word word out! The blood drive will be held at 540 West Adams St.,Woodbury.

Community Thanksgiving Service
The annual Community Thanksgiving Service will be hosted by the Woodbury Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at 303 West Colonial St. The program will start at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Pastors of several different churches in Woodbury and Cannon County will be involved in the service. All congregations are urged to attend.
Light refreshments will be provided in the church's fellowship hall following the program. Everyone is invited to attend.
